The classic Browning A-Bolt (often referred to as the A-Bolt II) delivers dependable, pinpoint accuracy that exceeds the stringent standards of the modern rifleman. The bolt-action rifle was forever changed with the introduction of the Browning X-Bolt. The X-Bolt builds on the proven successes of past Browning rifles, and adds numerous improvements that place the X-Bolt at the top of any side by side comparison. Most notable is an adjustable three-lever Feather Trigger™ system that offers the best feel on any Browning rifle ever.A bolt unlock button works with the top-tang safety to offer enhanced safety while unloading. Styling features offer more compact dimensions for a smaller, quicker, sleeker look and feel, and also trims weight. To ensure the stability of optics, scope bases are attached to the receiver using four screws per base. Innovation is the Browning tradition, and the X-Bolt is just the latest example.

The modern design of the Axis features silky smooth bolt operation, carbon steel barrel, a detachable box magazine, dual pillar bedding,  a matte black finish, sights drilled and tapped for scope mounts and a two-position safety. The crisp Axis trigger has a pull weight of approximately five pounds. The rifle includes a 3-9×40 matte blued scope, mounted and bore sighted.

Building on the success of the Savage “American Classic,” this is the long action example fitted with a hinged floor plate for quick internal magazine unloading. The stock design positions your face in the proper, slightly elevated position for scope use. As with all the Savage Classic models, expect high polish bluing, a laser-etched bolt, and the Savage logo grip cap finishing off a black tipped American walnut stock with cut checkering. As supplied from the factory, the Savage AccuTrigger breaks at a repeatable 2 lbs. 9 ounces, with no take-up, sand, or grit. It is a beautiful trigger right out of the box.
